Berlin, Germany
Visited: Summer 2013
Favourite Memory: Having dinner at Beluga next to the Brandemburg Gagte and then going down Friedrichstrasse on a 6 person bike!
In a nutshell: Big cosmopolitan city with many things to do. Good food, shopping and many museums. We wish we had had more time.

Brandemburg Gate- the best place to start your visit, and the tourist information office is right here. It is a gathering place for yourg people, tourists, street performers and locals alike.
Follow along the pavers that show where the Berlin Wall once stood and walk over to the Reichstag building and admire the glass dome.
Visit the Cathedral and the Berlin Radio tower
Kurfürstendamm (pictured here) and Friedrichstrasse are grea shopping streets
Museum Island houses several world class museums, including the Pergamon Museum where you find the Ishtar Gate
Potsdam Platz- This area was bombed during WW II and then divided in two by the Belin Wall. It is now a public square bustiling with activity and surrounded by new hotels, restaurants and major shopping stores.
Follow the pavers marking the old location of the wall. Some of the new buildings that stradle the site continue the pattern on the inside!
Checkpoint Charlie. No visit to Berlin is complete without it.
Ther is so much more to explore in this city. The Tiergartens, the Nikolai District and a cruise down the river Spree to name a few. We spent 4 full days in Berlin and as with most big Eruopean capitals, it was not enough.
